From designing nightclubs and discos in 1998 to creating music festivals, theme parks, and immersive entertainment projects in 2024, Disco Designer has been at the forefront of transforming the world of entertainment decor. Founded by Peter Yordanov, a former DJ turned visionary designer, our journey began with a dream to revolutionize the nightlife experience.
The Beginning: A DJ’s Vision Takes Shape
In 1998, after working as a resident DJ in top clubs across Bulgaria, Germany, and the Czech Republic, Peter returned home inspired by the potential he saw in nightclub interiors. At a time when most clubs featured simple, uninspired designs, Peter envisioned creating extraordinary spaces that would captivate audiences.
Starting with his first project, VIVA 2000, an Egyptian-Space-themed nightclub inspired by the movie Stargate, Peter poured his energy into experimenting with materials like styrofoam to create theatrical stage decor. By 1999, VIVA 2000 opened its doors, sparking a wave of interest in Peter’s unique approach to design.
Rapid Growth and Recognition
The success of VIVA 2000 brought widespread recognition, and Peter quickly became the go-to designer for nightclubs and discotheques in Bulgaria. Leveraging his reputation as a top DJ, he gained trust from colleagues and club owners, completing over 10 full club designs within his first year.
Peter's momentum grew internationally in 2002 when Dirk Bamberger, owner of the Top Ten Club in Singen, Germany,
and Peter's former club boss, invited him to design the club’s outdoor area. This marked Peter’s first international design project. Following this success, he was featured in German Disco Magazin, with his showroom in Frankfurt gracing the magazine’s cover. This milestone marked the beginning of Peter's journey to recognition in Germany and worldwide.
Pioneering Innovation in Club Design
By 2005, Peter recognized the need for innovation in nightclub decor. Disco Designer began creating LED-illuminated plastic panels, custom furniture, sound systems, and proprietary lighting control software. These groundbreaking products became an industry sensation, earning the company a global reputation and generating over €25 million in sales within a decade.
Disco Designer completed more than 700 full nightclub and disco projects across over 100 countries, revolutionizing the industry with its cutting-edge designs.
Opening a New Factory and Design Studio in
Ruse, Bulgaria – 2010
In 2010, Disco Designer reached an important milestone with the opening of a state-of-the-art factory and design studio in Ruse, Bulgaria. This new facility was a pivotal step in scaling operations and bringing even greater innovation to the nightclub and entertainment design industry.
The factory was equipped with cutting-edge technology, enabling the production of custom-designed decor, LED lighting systems, nightclub furniture, and other groundbreaking products. The addition of a dedicated design studio allowed Peter Yordanov and his team to conceptualize, prototype, and refine their ideas in-house, ensuring the highest standards of quality and creativity.
The Ruse facility not only streamlined production but also provided a space for experimentation, allowing the company to stay ahead of industry trends. With this expansion, Disco Designer solidified its reputation as a global leader in the field, catering to clients from over 100 countries and completing hundreds of full nightclub and entertainment venue projects worldwide.
This new chapter marked the beginning of an era of exponential growth and innovation, as the factory and studio became the heart of Disco Designer’s operations, driving creativity and excellence in entertainment decor.
Opening His Own Nightclub Showroom
In 2012, Peter opened his own nightclub, SHOWROOM, in Bulgaria. The venue showcased Disco Designer’s innovative LED panel technology and attracted hundreds of clients from around the world. SHOWROOM was awarded Best Club of the Year in Bulgaria for its spectacular design.
Four years later, Peter rebuilt SHOWROOM in a new location within just 13 days, making it an experimental base for his ever-evolving ideas. The venue served as a testing ground for the latest decor solutions, immersive environments, and technological advancements.
By 2017, Disco Designer had established itself as a global leader, with over 5,000 clients worldwide and a Facebook following of 95,000 industry professionals. That same year, Peter was inducted into the prestigious Nightclub Hall of Fame in the United States.

Reinventing Entertainment for the Future
In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic forced the entertainment industry to a standstill, Peter faced the challenge of sustaining a business with over 200 employees. During this period, he channeled his creativity into developing innovative solutions for live entertainment.
Inspired by personal development books like Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and Goals! by Brian Tracy, Peter introduced highly realistic inflatable designs for Music Festivals, Theme Parks, Family Entertainment Centers and Live Events. These vibrant, blacklight-reactive creations have become a signature offering of Disco Designer.

In 2024, Disco Designer’s innovation and artistry were celebrated with the Brass Ring Award at IAAPA Expo Amsterdam, solidifying its reputation as a trailblazer in entertainment decor.
